My Review

I picked up a copy of Kate Gray’s The Honeymoon during the launch party at the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate. A big thank you for the cocktail and the goody bag!

I snapped these photos before diving into the book, and now, with the sun finally making an appearance, it’s the perfect time to start reading.

The novel opens in Bali, where we meet two newlywed couples: Erin and Jamie, and Sophia and Mark, who are coincidentally honeymooning at the same resort.

On their final night, amid a storm and a heated argument, an accidental death occurs. Erin and Jamie return to the UK without reporting the incident, and the story continues back home, revealing the impact of the death on their lives and their eventual reunion with Sophia and Mark, who harbour their own secrets…

Although this is Kate Gray’s debut thriller, she is no stranger to writing, having previously penned feel-good reads.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, especially as the story unfolds and we delve deeper into the backgrounds of the two main couples!
