Europe Road Trip in a Campervan: Books I Read Across France and Switzerland

Home is Where the Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose

We’re currently on a road trip around Europe in our campervan, with our two dogs, Brambles and Daisy! Armed with my trusty Kobo Libra Colour, here’s what I’ve read so far:

The Heights by Louise Candlish – Read at Lac d’Orient, France.

It’s a normal working day for Ellen until she spots a ghost from her past on the roof terrace of the Heights. But it can’t be—can it? Ellen should know, as she killed him… Another fantastic psychological thriller from Louise Candlish.

My Husband by Maud Ventura – Read at Lac d’Orient, France.

A domestic noir debut that’s a bit different from my usual reads but still in the same vein! Set over the course of one week, the book delves into a wife’s obsession with her husband and the lengths she’ll go to for love.

Home is Where the Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose – Read at Lake Brienz, Switzerland.

I’ve been itching to read this since seeing the cover! After their mother passes away, three siblings begin clearing out their childhood home and uncover a collection of home video tapes. However, one of them reveals a dark secret… I did guess the twist in this one, but it was satisfying to be right. It was a really fun and enjoyable read.

Fight Club 2 by Chuck Palahniuk – Read at Lake Lugano, Switzerland.

I’ve been meaning to read this for ages, as I’m a huge fan of Chuck Palahniuk. The Kobo Libra Colour felt like the perfect opportunity to finally dive into it. Colour e-ink is still 🤯 to me!

Alongside my reading, I’ve also been enjoying some general holiday activities. I’ve tried paddle boarding, indulged in lots of good food, and relaxed with my husband and dogs. We’ve encountered some bad weather—the van is currently a bit dented from a hailstorm in Switzerland. Hopefully, we’re through the worst of it now 🤞
