My Review

I’ve just finished Someone in the Attic by Andrea Mara, and I absolutely loved it!

The book starts with a chilling scene: Anya is relaxing in the bath, completely unaware of the danger lurking above. As she glances through the slightly ajar door, she sees her loft hatch suddenly swing open, and an intruder descends…

We’re then introduced to Anya’s friend, Julia, who has recently returned to Ireland with her two children and ex-husband, Gabe. Although long separated, they co-parent and split their time between the family home and their respective apartments. But soon after settling into their new house, Julia’s daughter Isla discovers a disturbing video on TikTok – someone emerging from their loft and filming…

The reactions of Julia’s son to the masked intruder really set the tone for me, adding an extra layer of creepiness. His comments made the situation even more unsettling! I also loved the unfolding mystery of why this was happening. It’s a gripping read that I’d definitely recommend!
