What a fantastic day at the January Yorkshire Reads meet!
We gathered in beautiful Knaresborough, starting with a visit to the wonderful Castlegate Books, followed by a charity shop challenge and the concludes with food and chat at the Worlds End.
This group is so much fun to be part of. Huge thanks to Beth for doing an amazing job of bringing everyone together and organising everything. Swipe to see the adorable 2025 read tracker bookmarks she gifted us all – how cute are they?
It was lovely to meet so many new faces (though this was only my second big meet myself!) and to finally match more names to faces from here.
For the charity shop challenge, I managed to tick off three objectives – though some might call my interpretations “creative”!
- The Black Bird (first initial) – £1.95
- The Only Suspect (I think someone recommended this… even if it was just me or Instagram!) – £2.49
- The Cut (Chris Brookmyre is new-ish to me; I’ve seen him talk at events but haven’t read his work yet, so I’m counting it!) – £1.50
Grand total: £5.94 – not bad for three books!
