April 2025 reading wrap-up – 8 books reviewed

April was another great reading month for me – I managed to finish 8 books. I can’t believe how much I am reading compared to a couple of years ago! Below, you’ll find the full list of books I read. Click on each title to check out my full review.

Want to follow my reading journey? You can add me on StoryGraph or Goodreads.

I Make My Own Fun by Hannah Beer. A fantastic debut about obsession and celebrity.

The Midnight King by Tariq Ashkanani. A dark and chilling thriller.

People Pleaser by Catriona Stewart. White Lotus meets Love Island in this debut thriller.

One of Us is Dead  by Peter James. My first foray into the Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series.

The Secret Room by Jane Casey. Maeve Kerrigan is back! A locked room style mystery with a strong Josh Derwent arc.

Human Remains by Jo Callaghan. Kat and AI detective Lock are back and investigating  the discovery of human bones whilst someone is watching Kat…

The Cliffhanger by Emily Freud. Husband and wife, Emma and Felix, are the co-authors of bloody thrillers. But just how much of their own lives are bleeding into the pages of their latest novel?

Our Last Wild Days by Anna Bailey. Gritty, atmospheric and steeped in Southern tension. A slow-burning mystery with a strong sense of place.

If you’ve read any of these, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Drop a comment below or chat with me over on Instagram (@bethreadscrime) or Bluesky.
