Authors, cheese and wine at Criminally Good Books Christmas Party!

It is no secret that my favourite independent bookshop is Criminally Good Books in York. I mean they focus on crime fiction so are already off to a good start! They are run by Isla and her team of stellar booksellers, including Cat and Meg, who are always on hand with the best book recommendations. They also are bringing incredible author events to the city of York.

So I was super excited to be invited to a special festive night. I met up with my friend Carrie and we headed over to York, stopping in at Thor’s teepee first for a mulled wine and mulled cider to get us in the festive spirit.

We then arrived at Criminally Good Books where a platter of cheese, wine and soft drinks awaited. The event was attended by authors and bloggers alike. Authors were there signing their books and we got to have lots of fun chats.

It was great to catch up with Kathryn Sharman, whose debut The Family at No. 23 seriously impressed me this year. There was also J. M. Hall and Gay Marris present. I picked up a signed and inscribed copy of  Jekyll & Hyde: Winter Retreat by Tim Major who was at the event, alongside a copy of Not Another Bloody Christmas by Jo Middleton and They Own the Night by Amy McCaw.

Thanks again to Isla for the invite!
