My Review

Today is my turn on the tour for Run For Your Life, along with my relay mates A Quintillion Words [read Em’s review here], @booksta_jon and @thefirstelevenminutes. The company behind this tour, Insta Book Tours, regularly share amusing sign up comments for their tours. Hence when I signed up for this I left a comment about how the Sunday park run messes up my morning dog walk, that I find runners just a little annoying… so yes I would be interested in a book where they get picked off!

Just a few pages in and the victims are talking about how they love running for charity, how supportive the community is, that you only live once and should make the most of every second… Great. Thanks for making me feel like a knob Kabler! I would officially like to take back my comments about runners. Mostly. I mean this is still coming from someone whose own personal fave distance is the fridge.

In the book, runners are being killed using different methods across a series of races. I appreciated the representation of both the victims and killer, as all are humanised and there was a reason behind everything. I found the mystery intriguing although I am unsure if many will be able to figure it out in advance, as it relies on some later information, but there are a few smaller elements of the reveal weaved throughout.

Hats off to the nerdy name pun of the IT worker called Dell too.

Run for Your Life is a unique thriller that has the endurance to maintain its fast pace right to the finish line.

Thank you to Insta Book Tours for the review copy.
