My Review
Kiss Slay Replay is a time-loop novel.
Kiss Slay Replay is a time-loop novel (okay, okay let’s get to it) that takes place during a wedding and the venue used to be a summer camp, so it’s the ideal setting for all the horrors that await!
Willa is part of the core friendship group that attended college with the betrothed couple. They’re all sharing different cabins at the venue, which again leans into the classic slasher vibes. Willa rocks up to the wedding solo. She’s broken up with her long-term partner and isn’t looking forward to seeing him again. Especially when she learns he’s brought a plus one. This is a day Willa is going to struggle to get through. So, of course she’s not best pleased to find herself repeating it… especially when each day ends with her death!
The loop itself is executed well and doesn’t feel repetitive. A different horror awaits Willa with each reset, so you’re not getting chunky repeats of dialogue or just waiting for her to figure out how to game a way out. There’s new challenges to contend with and I’m sure you’ll have your own favourite loop after reading!
It’s the first book I’ve read from Harrison and it won’t be the last. I love it when you can see little pieces of yourself within a book, even if it’s just simply Willa’s anxiety checks before leaving the house or Cassie’s love of a wedge salad!
Kiss Slay Replay is a time-loop novel (sorry, not sorry) 💋🔪🔁
